Good news everyone! Hubby is going to be able to stay until atleast September 8th, his first drill is that weekend and then we will probably know more, YAY...that is such a relief, I was so worried that he would call his unit and they would say that he had exactly one week from the date of his graduation and then he would be shipped out...
Having him home again has been wonderful, we have been hanging out with the boys, we went to six flags. That was a really good time, the boys had fun and S even got up the courage to go on Kong with hubby and Boomerang with me, I am really proud of him, considering that most 9 year olds would not yet be allowed to go on those that took some real bravery! R wanted to go on them too, but alas he was too short. We took him into the Looney Tunes area where he was able to go on rides and we were not, he had much fun! There was also a junior roller coaster that both boys went on with us and we had lots of fun, R was scared to at first but eventually put his hands up. All in all a really good family day. We also spent some time cleaning, not what I originally envisioned his first days home being but it felt really good to do it for two reasons, 1) most of the clutter was left over from before he left so I did not feel TOO bad about it, but I did feel bad, 2) afterwards the house being so clean and smelling so good really gave the feeling of a fresh start, good feelings and happy home.
I did want to take a little time to discuss the missing executive where I work. For those not in the know, our VP at Sierra Nevada went missing a week ago, they found his car, keys and a prescription bottle near the Sac River. They had dogs come and sniff the area three or four times and each time the dogs led them to the same spot on the river on three separate occasions on three different days. The people at work are all very worried for him and the place is like a family, so everyone has been trying to help search and what not. The part that is starting to bug me is the fact that the searchers are concentrating on a "small" area around the location where the dogs kept leading them...is it just me or is that absolutely rediculous...it is a freaking RIVER, it moves lots of things in it along down stream...why are they not looking further down stream, even down to Sacramento by this time? Secondly, why did they bring several different dogs in to search the same area on several different days, the dogs were allowed to search down stream for 1 1/2 miles, but is that really far enough? Perhaps it is, what do I know about searching for missing people? But seriously, the sticking point is why in the hell aren't they looking downstream in the water!!! Regardless, I feel for his family and his friends and being one of his employees I know he will be missed...I hope that there is some closure or something for everyone to have at some point in the near future.
Now finally, our very good friends the E's will be here tonight or tomorrow, I am soooo looking forward to their arrival! They have done so much for themselves and just worked so darn hard I just can't wait to see them and give them big hugs!
Well gotta go, I will write more later.
