My uneventful weekend.

So I guess it is time for an update on the crazy goings on that have made up a really rough weekend.

Thursday I dropped my hubby off at the airport, we had to drive him to Sac because the flight from here in Chico was delayed so much that he would not make his connection in SF. The trip there was nice, we got to hang out with eachother and talk and just be together. The boys played video games in the back seat most of the way there and then again home. The actual dropping off of him was a little anti-climactic (sp?) as there was this very slow line for the check in and then we had to say good bye very quickly. Our tearful good-bye made the lady behind the desk cry too. I did not begin bawling until the boys and I were outside and even then I held it in check...mostly. The trip home was quiet and uneventful. Hubby made it to his final destination just fine and we started on day one of no baby at home.

Friday morning I awoke to hubby calling me to find out if I had made it to the bank...it was 8:30 am and my alarm had not gone off...this was because the power was out. This was the beginning to a very bad day...a VERY bad day. Suffice to say that things just got worse from there with downed powerlines, trees that fell in the street, fences that are no longer fencing, a pool shed no longer shedding, traffic, screwed up pay checks, a bank that could not cash the screwed up pay check and lastly...the straw that broke the camel's back, a bank card in my wallet that should have been in his (and that is just to name a few). I broke down...cried like a baby in the middle of the bank...how embarrassing!! But things are getting back on track from that day. I did have some good in the day, my very good friend D came over and we took the kidlets to Mickey D's and let them play while we talked and drank too much soda...enjoyable as we have not had much chance to talk lately. Evening I had to go out with the FIL and go shopping for supplies, in general a rather frustrating experience as he kept wanting to buy a generator and that was a little out of our reach financially speaking. Came home and made sandwhiches for dinner by flashlight.

Saturday, still no power, but getting used to moving around via flashlight. Spent the day and evening with the kids playing card, board games, I spy and other very wierd games that they made up. In the evening/late afternoon I got a call from hubby about some mail stuff and rushed out to mail it but there was no joy there, mail place closes at 12:30 on Saturdays...had to wait until Monday. Tried my darnedest to make chicken on the grill...now I have never done this, so they turned out black and raw at first....ugh....but then I put them back on and cooked them correctly, and they were pretty yummy!

Sunday, still no power. I had to work and getting up using only my phone for a wake up call proved difficult but I made it. Work was light and easy, got done in 6 rather than the usualy 8-9 hours. Hubby called me and we were able to talk again, we have been talking on the phone alot since he left, all good, all nice all appreciated. He was bored as they had nothing to study or do while waiting for the first day of his school to start. I talked to him several times that day...good stuff really. Visited shortly with D after work, she was very kindly watching the boys for me. Came home and made hamburgers cause the POWER was back on!!! Woohoo...was getting really sick of living by flash.

Monday, work again. Not too bad, busy day, went fast. Got the kidlets from school and mailed the package to hubby, went shopping for some groceries and came home.

That was my very (un)eventful weekend. I am ready for the next one to be a little less uneventful...lol.
